H22 m2s4 clutch housing cracked, repair options?
As the title says I have an H22a with a m2s4 (non LSD) that has a cracked clutch housing. The previous owner bottomed out the car that this drivetrain was in and broke the clutch housing section. I was planning on pulling the transmission and either fixing it or replacing it. Plan is to replace the syncros, install a LSD and a new F'D but I need to address the damage. Instead of buying another m2s4 can I swap the clutch housing off a manual transmission honda accord? Bolt patterns are the same F to H if I'm not mistaken and if I swap the shafts and gear housing over then internally the transmission should be fine. Accord manual trans out of a junk yard for cheap is better than buying another m2s4 for 600-900 when I plan on rebuilding it anyways. Thanks
If your trans is in buildable shape...I would rebuild it. You can use a 94-97 Accord P2A5 or P2U5 case. We have plenty of them if you need one. Just give us a call
Pm sent. I believe it's rebuildable, I'm removing it and opening it up to make sure the gears are ruined first due to bad syncros.
