bike selection
here is what i want:
engine:
fuel injection
liquid cooling
enough power to get out of the way of cars and hang on the highway (coming from an aircooled 750, which i consider to have PLENTY of torque)
suspension:
somewhat adjustable
preload, damping, rebound?
not intended for track, but want good feel on weekends in the foothills / twisties
but 90% street
other:
acceptable comfort for a 6ft 3in and 260lb rider
reasonable insurance
minimal fairing (current sport-tourish one causes ungodly rumble)
brand perference: Honda (of course!)
with those considerations, i am thinking the CBR f4i fits the bill pretty well. what do you guys think?

The F4 is an awesome bike for what you listed above. Since you already have a bike, maybe you could wait until March for the 03's. I think it is going to be the ebst year for sportbikes. All makers have some pretty sweet bikes coming out. The new Honda RR is sick!
Many also are waiting to see Suzuki's SV1000
yeah well i want a bike with a bit more sporty suspension geometry. and i want the sportbike look (omg i am into style, thats a FIRST for me).
i am interested in the sv1000s and its in the same price range as the f4i but i really want a bike that will make me focus on riding and handling. i think the f4i is just the ticket (if i fit on it comfortably). i have already gotten in trouble with my 750...so going down to a 600 (with 30-40 more hp!) is reasonable. the new RR looks to be a little too agressive for my mostly street riding. but i'll drool over the mags for a bit.
the sv1000s will be just begging me to wheelie it from every light. the older i get, the less mature i act. hmmm...

most of the ducs are low insurance right?
so how about a Monster 900 (was it 600?)? thoes dont have much or any cowlings, and have more than enough power.
hehehe, its just something i want so i can cruise around.

I don't think there are any major changes for 03. At least I have not heard of any. Do you go to http://www.cbrworld.net ? They have a lot of good info. The new RR is awesome looking, and it will be a great performer, but a little overprices IMHO.
If you want to stick with Kawasaki their new RR is awesome. There will also be an R version that is affordable.
