Default 15x7 et25 on eg civic - and no, i don't want "stance"

pondering what the fitment would be on an eg hatch with a 15x7, et25 and a 205/50 15 tire.

i'm not after stance or any poke - i simply like "full" looking wheel wells.

will this poke past the edge of the fenders? can't find any pics of this setup, yes i googled.

thanks...

Will you be running any negative camber? If running at 0 degrees, you will have slight rubbing issues on stock sheetmetal. You'll clear the sheetmetal if you roll the quarter panels and fenders a little bit.

Then you should have little to no problems fitting them.

225's are a bit wide for 7". Just run a 205/50/15 in a better compound.

225/45/15's are rated for 7-8.5" wide wheels. So, although a 7" wide wheel is the most narrow wheel you can run safely with 225/45's... its still plenty safe.

With a 15x7 +42, you're going to get pretty close to your knuckles up front with 225's. I'm not 100% certain if they'll clear the suspension with that offset or not. You should be able clear exterior panels with very minor camber or rolling the fenders/quarter panels.

PS. Just make a new thread next time. No need to threadjack here.

The reason I recommend a 205 on a 7" rim is because the actual contact patch doesn't improve with a 225, the floaty feel of the rim moving laterally inside the tire can be unsettling, price goes up for a 225 vs 205, and fitment issues get harder to overcome.

I can tell you that a 225 with that offset will clear up front on the knuckles, but not on the rear trailing arm - you might also have to notch the rear camber arm to clear the rim.

For a 225, you'll want around a +35 to clear the trailing arm.

Keep in mind that the actual dimensions of tires vary by manufacturer - regardless of size markings.

Truer words have never been posted. Its one of my all-time biggest pet peeves about ordering tires.

toyomatt is correct - the rims/tires fit and sit flush with the fender wells. no rubbing issues either, and did not have to roll/pull fenders as my car is stiffly sprung.

thanks!

smh at 225 on a 7 wide... that's too skinny of a wheel. I am running 225s on an 8' wide and i wouldn't ever run it on anything thinner. imo, 7" is good for a 205.

I've always thought 195/50 looked perfect on 7's.

195/50 is oversized and with throw the speedo off. 195/45 would be the correct size to use.

I am running 15x7 +36 enkei's on my hatch w/ 205/50 Z1 starspecs. I had to roll my fenders. Plenty of pics in my build thread link'd I my sig.

Too skinny IMO, you might as well have a 6" wide wheel - unless you prefer the euro stretched tire look...
