? for autox experts about cams..
sorry yall, should prolly post this here and not in the auto x forum, but they usually aren't very helpful if you're new.
my ? is do you think stage 2 cams would help me in auto x...I always thought cams cost you low end torque, but I've seen dyno sheets recently that disprove my theory.. I know its not a supsension part, so please don't post telling me to get suspension parts. After cams, I will be done w/motor mods besides lightened flywheel, which is prolly a drive train part. (sorry to get OT, for a sec.)
Any input on the issue will really help.
this forum gets better everyday, thanx fellow luders.

i really dont think they are worth it for autox.. figure most of your time in the course is spent in 2nd gear.. the cams arent gonna make you THAT much faster..
plus is moves you up to a different class where other ppl have crazy work done.

Cams (or the lightened flywheel) will put you in SCCA's SoloII Street Mod class - where your Prelude will have no chance of ever being competive. If I were you, I would not do anything to the car execpt for STS legal mods (wheels/tires, suspension, intake, header, cat-back, pulleys, etc. STS is really the only class where the Prelude can be a contender IMHO.
Extra power will help you very little in autoX, especially with an open differential. That money would be much better spent on wheels/tires and shocks/springs/swaybars.

ok, down w/the cams..here is my setup, what do you think I should get next?
97 SH (don't have an LSD or the option to add, cuz of ATTS, kinda does the same thing though.)
GC coilovers
Apex'i N1 cat back
Yokahama Parada spec II's 215/40/17 on ADR revo 6 17x7.5 (selling them for rota's and Azenis.)
Injen CAI.
I was thinking Kamikaze Header and Apex'i V-afc (cuz I think autox season is over until next year where I live.)
OR Kyb AGX's?
thanks for the help yall.
