Will A Wagon Roof Rack Fit A Hatchback?
I am in the market for a roof rack/luggage rack before I move across country and found a Thule that says it came off of a wagon.
Does anyone know off hand if there is any reason it wouldn't fit the hatchback just the same? I've never owned one but from the pics it appears to just sort of clamp on.
Or if someone with a wagon would be rad as a dad and be willing to make some measurements for me to compare that would be awesome.
Thanks a ton!

No, it was not designed to fit both. The feet are the same (400-series) but the fit kit is different. The hatchback uses a #77 fit kit and the wagon uses a #88. The fit kit is the rubber pads that attach to the feet and then sit on the car. You may be able to get it to work but it's not the correct application. Don't be surprised if the rack flies off on the road. If you're just seeking the latest "JDM-poser look" you're probably fine. If you actually intend to use the rack I would order the proper fit kit...it's about $70 and you can find them on Amazon and ebay...the #77 has been discontinued from Thule. Everything else should be interchangeable but do your own research first.
The width of the roofline is not important...the load bars are adjustable in the feet. If they are wider than your application calls for then they might stick out a little...be careful, you'll whack your temple on the end getting into a hatch if the bars are too wide.
