Default dgk's '97 EJ9 build thread

i've been on a bit of a downgrade through the years. not what you normally expect. i started out with an EK9 in 2006, which i sold a year later, as i lost my job. i then bought an EK4 a month after i sold the EK9, as i couldn't bare to be without a honda. had that for a couple of years. i then sold it, as i was meant to be moving back to canada (but didn't). was pissed off big time. my hubby bought me an EJ9 two years ago, as a daily runner. it only cost €750, and came with a brand new clutch and motul gearbox oil :D
so here's just a summary of what's been done to date since i got the car....

i know these are only small things, and it's a bit boring. i have been without paid work for a long time, so it takes me forever and a day to get money together for anything. because laws are so retarded here, i don't really plan to do much to the engine. i want to get a D16Z6 intake mani, so i can have a side fed air intake setup. i might put a vtec head on (with loom and ecu).. who knows. want to get a header and an OE VTI cat back exhaust system. i also need to get the wheels painted again.

here's a pic as the car sits now

(tape was cos the stupid council fks put down loose chippings on our road )

and recently gave the engine bay a good clean..

hope there'll be more updates to come in the not so distant future thanks for reading if you got this far!

bits arrived in from miami this morning :D

i bought the fender washers to put in place of the headlight bolts & the coolant reservoir bracket bolt.

then i fitted the LCAs

cleaned out my arches. found a bit of rust on the inside of the QP. i scrubbed it with a wire brush to get all loose bits off. it hasn't gone too deep yet anyway. then i brushed a layer of thick grease to protect it for the moment.

i hope to get a brace/arb setup for the rear soon. there's a lot of stuff to get, but i have to focus on one thing at a time. this is a poverty spec build afterall :D

Cool car, I always like seeing other civics from around the world. Seems like there are a lot of differences.

thanks!

one thing that drives me demented about cars in europe, is that we get these lame-*** small engines in everything..
there are A LOT of 1.4 civics here in ireland, and even 1.3's .. like the hybrid civic (06+) are 1.3!

there was an irish domestic EK4 vti with a B16A2.. but they are even rare enough to find. most cars around here are imports. even my own hatch is a UK spec (northern ireland) imported civic.
