2001 Accord Value Package Low Fuel Light does not come on
Hi - A few months back I replaced all the bulbs in my car's dashboard because several had burned out.
I had hoped this would remedy the fact that my low fuel light does not come on. It didn't work. I went so far as to drive the car until it completely ran out of gas to test it!
It's not the end of the world to fill up before the gauge is close to "E", but I still might be inclined to try to fix it.
I've read about how to replace the fuel sending unit, but my question is this - if the the gauge works properly (it goes up to "F" when it is full and down to "E" when the tank is empty), what are the odds that the problem is coming from the fuel sending unit?
If that is not the problem, I assume there is a wiring problem that is preventing the proper current going to the bulb, but I have no clue how to test for that. I do have a couple of electronics meters, but don't know how to use them. I would need "idiot's guide" type coaching to use them.
thanks in advance for any help on this!
