B series VSS gear in the Transmission?
Hey, so i've been having a VSS problem. I have a 98 Ej coupe Ls vtec with a ctr tranny. My speedometer stopped working and its in limp mode, i cant rev past 4k. When i hit 4k the cel goes on and throws the VSS code. I originally thought it was my VSS (it still could be) so i went on craigslist to buy a new one, it didnt work. I replaced my fuse (even though it seemed fine) and it still didnt work. I was browsing on H/T trying to find an answer, i found a thread saying it might be the gear that turns the VSS. So i jacked up the front end, took out my sensor, put it in 1st gear and spun the front wheels. They said the gear inside the tranny that moves the vss is supposed to move, but i stuck my finger in there and i dont feel anyting?? i'm pretty sure i have my finger in the gear, and when i jerk the tires, i can feel it jerk a little too, but it wont spin.. Can someone tell me what that gear is called? or maybe have an idea on whats going on? maybe i'm trippin and i'm not diagnosing it correctly. LMK thanks
Hey have you figured out the problem?
My b16a trans isn't spinning my vss gear
When I drive the car it won't go past 4500 because that's what 2 step is set at
Thanks dexter
