need help with crx b18b1 swap
I have an 88 si crx currently with a d15b7 block y8 head. Not sure if vtec engaged but I bought a b18b1 with a 9 lbs flywheel no tranny with it but bought a cable ls tranny what clutch would be best for car its gunna be my DD but would like it to be quick plan on getting I/H/E what do I need to do to swap this motor in plan on later making it Lsvtec. What mounts or ecu or motor/ tranny mounts do I need and or shift linkage
This has been covered 1000+ times. Try the search feature. First thing I would do though is sell the LS tranny and buy a B16 cable tranny. B16 tranny has way shorter gearing, and they can be had for a decent price. Not to mention you can find some with factory LSD and I don't think they offered LSD at all for the LS trannys.
EDIT: Also I I/H/E will give you only small gains. It won't help you keep up with mustangs. You need to go forced induction or high comp all motor to do so.

Would a grs tranny be better the b16. And will my final drive cause rpms to be high using a b16 tranny and yes I plan on turbo but not for a few months also what clutch would be good for this application. And this is proably a bad question but when I comes to header is there a difference between ebay header and name brand header. Thanks a lot for your response

The GSR is still a good short geared tranny, but in my opinion, nothing beats a cable operated B16 tranny WITH LSD.
Clutch wise that will differ on who you talk to and how much power you are putting down. What are your power goals?
You might also want to look into a lighter flywheel(around 10 pounds for turbo or 7 pounds if going high comp N/A) while down there so you can get those rev's up faster. Also springs/retainers would help to so you don't get valve float and can rev higher.
For the header, I would just say hold off. Yes name brand headers generally flow better and have better welds. If you plan on going turbo later why drop 300+ dollars on a header when you will have to take it off down the road later and you will lose money. That's why I say hold off.
you dnt honestly no a good tranny till you have tryed them all! s80 4.7 type r hydraulic trans is beast! but right next to that will be the 4.4 ys1 93 gsr trans! its basicly hydraulic but its cable operated! you can add a lsd but extra cash! i drove mine none lsd tho and it just ripped! was quick trust and i no where you can pick one up 949-633-3981 my buddy chris dnt get confused with the lame 4.2 ys1 its no comparison b16 with 4.4 ys1 will take out a integra gsr easy good luck on ur build

Thankz for the help yea Im gunna have to look for those tannys cuz there kind of hard to find and pricey . Another question I have is what would be better to build ls head or buy b16 or gsr head im looking to put 230-250 whp is my goal what kind of mods should I do and at what point do I have to sleeve the block. Is an ebay turbo worth it if I just switch flange with name brand one.

In my opinion B16 > GSR head for boost. The B16 head flows a tad better, but the GSR has better cams.
If you wanted to just go Ls/Turbo you would still be able to hit 250hp, but you wouldn't have vtec, you would have a lower red line, but you would save money because you didn't have to build a LS/Vtec motor.
