Default rad fan issue

First off I'm gonna say I know I can search the forums but I've got a couple questions. I've replaced my thermostat and head gasket and now the radiator after finding out it had a crack as well. So now I find out my fan isn't working. It was on the other day before I replaced the radiator now it doesn't come on. I had purchased an eBay radiator+fan. Has anybody had problems with those before? I'm sure I connected it correctly. I was also wondering if you can turn the AC on to make the Rad fan come on or only the condenser fan? I also have a mustang and the Rad fan comes on with the AC.

How do you KNOW the fan does not come on?

The radiator fan is controlled by the fan switch. I'd start by bypassing the switch and seeing if the fan comes on that way.

24Ten- I'm not very familiar with electrical, could you please explain how bypass the switch? Thanks!
grumblemarc- I don't know if the fan is or isn't coming on unless I can Force it on without heating up the engine. I don't want to overheat the car incase it doesn't come on. I'd prefer to stay safe.

Unplugged the fan switch plug, then take a piece of wire Or paper clip stick the ends in the plug. Should look like the pic below. Key in the on position engine not running the fan should turn on.

Alright thanks. Care to enlighten where the switch is? Just follow the wires from
the fan?

Get a test light or multi meter, with the fan switch plug jumped see if your getting power to the fan plug it self. Remember the key needs to be in the on position.

Key on engine off. New fan, old fan stopped working, replaced fan with eBay fan that came with radiator. So neither work. Fan worked one day then the next it didn't.

Maybe you should also run wire directly from the fan plug to the battery just to verify that it works at all before you buy another one.

"n/a2boost" has the right idea though, if you verify the plug is receiving voltage than you can narrow the problem down to being after the plug itself (harness side).

i'm gonna try jumping the switch again, i'm also going to connect the fan to the battery directly, if that works i might just run a wire and switch from inside the car to the battery and fan.

No problem man. Now replace the fan switch and it should work like normal.

One more question. Do you know how to read the engine light? I know you have to jump some pins, and count the flashes of the MIL. What pins do you jump?
