B18 in eg,BOGS
So I have a b18b ls swap, and it has no power under 3000rpms
It's almost like I have vtec at 3000rpms it has a ton of power all the sudden( I know it doesn't actually have vtec)
It's got new plugs/wire/cap/rotor/fuel filter
Runs great over 3k
Little bit of popping on decel
Starts in less then a second when I turn the key

I just did the tbelt, so I'm 99% sure that's spot on
Just running an obd1 p75 ecu
Should I use a timing light to adjust the dizzy? Or just play with it and see if it runs better?

Ill hit it with the light tonight and see of that's my issue
alright so with the timing light, we cant get it to the red mark, even while advancing the distributor 100%..
does this mean my belt is a tooth off?
( we jumped the service connector and the car was right on the white mark, warm idle, and by turning the dizzy full advance i was able to get it about halfway between the red and white marks)

With the engine not running, you are looking for the "lonely"(static)red mark.
Running and with the timing light on, you need one of the 3 grouped marks (1 should be white). Hope this helps

That sounds kinda like what I was seeing as the "white" mark..
I'm doing a valve cover gasket this weekend so ill double check mechanical timing, which means the crank "red" mark is on the pointer on the timing cover correct
Seems to be running much better with a fresh tank of fuel and the dizzy at full advance but I want to be sure it's right

Correct. I remember it like this- red is stopped(engine off) like a traffic light. Make sure you rotate your engine by hand 3-4 rotations counterclockwise w/plugs out(nice and easy w/o compression) Before trying to start. This is IF you adjust static timing...
