Default 91 accord a/c problem

I have a 91 accord LX and the a/c doesn't work. the compressor kicks on and off but no cold air out the vents. I took it to a shop and had it vaccumed and recharged and still nothing. Does anyone know what the problem could be? also does anyone know where the drain hose is for the a/c under the car?

Have them evacuate the system again and then replace the receiver/dryer and expansion valve. While you're at it, remove the compressor and spin the pulley with one hand while holding your other hand over the two ports on the compressor and see if you feel suction. You should spinning in the direction the crank travels(counter clockwise), if it doesn't produce a suction effect it's probably bad.

The receiver/drier is driver side fender area and expansion valve is located on the evaporator which is behind the glove box. You will need a set of flare wrenches to take the bolts off. Don't even think about using a regular open end wrench to change the parts or you will strip bolts. Also get a set of "ac o-ring kit" and replace the orings as you take things off.

he said its probably the expansion valve. he tested it and its 300 psi on the high side and 35 psi on the low. so I have to get a manual and replace the valve and o rings.

Ok have him evacuate the system for you. Then you will need to remove the glove box. Then you will need to remove the evaporator that is located behind it. There are two ac lines that run on the passenger side engine bay that go to the evaporator. You access them from the passenger side of the engine bay. Remove the one closest to the driver side first(looking down from passenger side), then remove the one to its left(while looking down), then proceed to remove the bolts that hold the evaporator up and then slide it out. The ac thermostat will be attached to evaporator as well. You will need to unplug the connector before removing the evaporator. There will be a drain hose at the bottom that you will need to disconnect. After removing the evaporator you will see the expansion valve attached to it after removing the foam casing. This casing will fall apart if you are not careful. Then just replace the valve put it all back and have him recharge it. Try not to disturb it. You really should replace the receiver/dryer while you have the system open. It's located by the driver side headlight area.

Remember to only use flare wrenches on these lines. Don't use open end wrenches or they will strip the bolt heads.
