Post 94 honda accord ex distributor

hey whats up guys, i have a 94 honda accord ex i was thinking of replacing my distributor because of the rotor bolt head broke & i heard drilling will make it worse. does anyone have any good ideas & are distributors hard to replace?

Without checking, I think the hole goes straight through. If so, you can try just drilling right through and hopefully the broken screw shaft will just come apart and you will be good to go with a new screw.

Replacing the distributor is super easy. When you insert the shaft into the head just make sure you don't jam it in. It can go in two different ways. One way is really easy and the other way is only possible if you try to jam it in. You will need a timing gun and will need to retime the ignition by placing a paperclip into the service connector located at the passenger side kick panel with the engine completely warmed up. Then you will need to set ignition timing to 15 degrees btdc. There are several videos on youtube that show you how to do this easier. The best thing to do is to start with a tiny bit then just go bigger and bigger.

You can get a drill, a drill bit set, and a timing gun at most Walmarts.
