83 Accord Help
When cold the car will start, then will die immediately unless you hold the gas for a minute or two. But the weird part is when it's at operating temperature, it idles consistently at 1500-1700rpm. We tried to retard the timing to see what would happen and it made the starting problem worse.
Any ideas? I'm not very experienced with cars so i don't want to mess with the carb unless i know it's the problem.

My '83 CVCC 1.5L does almost the same thing. When it's cold, I have to give it some gas and almost coax it to stay idling. When I decide to finally go, it sort of bucks and hiccups, but when the car is warm it runs pretty darn well. I can deal with it for now, but i can see it getting pretty annoying if I just need to run errands and I have to sit and wait until the car feels like going lol.
