94 EX shudders and shakes after timing belt replacement
Any idea? Timing belt broke as I was entering a freeway onramp and realized a couple days later that it was my timing belt-- fml. Changed the timing belt and now the engine shakes in place, wondering if this could be a symptom of a bent valve or worse. Car sounds fine otherwise, just the shaking. Up until about 50, car runs decently smooth, then around 55 starts giving me a little shake again.
If the belt broke, you have damage to the head/valves/block/pistons/rods or all of it as a whole. How in the hell could you even drive it after it breaking? That is physically impossible.
There are plenty of stories on HT of people lucking out with SOHC. The easiest way to find out is to put it back to TDC and throw a belt on it. Nothing is impossible... Improbable maybe.
