Default transmission options

Hey,

So my 5-speed transmission crapped out on my 97 lx last night. Which transmissions could I look for? just 94-97? will h22 manual transmissions fit? I just want to know what other options i have to broaden my search.

thanks
~Tim

90-97 Accords. 92-96 Preludes, any F22/H22 trans should fit. Not sure on F23/H23 MT transmissions.
Differences are gear ratios between CB/CD and the BB's.

thanks!

I was doing some research on exedy.com

90-97 f22 clutch - 225mm - 24 spline count
92-01 h22/h23 clutch - 219mm - 24 spline count

so it looks like as long as i keep my f22 clutch and pressure plate, i could use any of those transmissions? Do you have any insight into axles/halfshafts? I read earlier that all F/H starters are interchangeable. I'm also assuming I will just be reusing my f22 tranmission mounts if i do opt for an H-series trans.

AFAIK, those years of transmissions use the same or similar case.

Just use the axles that are for your car. Accord axles for an Accord, Prelude axles for a Prelude.

There are AT and MT starters, othewise they probably are. But I dunno if a F18 starter is rated the same kW as a H22A redtop starter.

Yup. Only mount change with F22 vs H22 is at the front of the engine due to SOHC vs DOHC.

That stinks. So what is it that causes a 5 speed transmission to give out?
I am going to swap a 5 speed transmission that came from a car which had about 200,000 miles on it (an H23 trans). I hope its in good condition still.

Someone said to use GM Sychromesh or something.
