Default This girl needs opinions on a 07 MDX Hood Flutter

Hey! So, I just added a 2007 Acura MDX to my collection and am having a issue with my hood. I have been back and forth with the dealership bc I brought this up in the test drive. So, at about 40mph...my hood starts to flutter really bad. Almost making me feel like the hood is going to flip open. I have had them adjust the latch a couple of times and its not changing anything. It has now gotten to the point that I am being dismissed by them bc I am a woman! So irritating! Any thoughts as to what else I can have them try since they refuse to replace the hood?! Thanks!

Is the latch catching the striker properly? It sounds like a hardware issue, maybe not so much the hood itself.

Yes the latch is catching properly. They have adjusted it and have said that the hardware is not the problem. They have driven the car and see the problem but have concluded there is nothing they can do. Could it be that the hood skin needs to be sealed to the framing under the hood? That is something I just found on a forum

look for these, or something that resembles them. there should be at least two on the top of you core support. they often become mis-adjusted to far down, or fall out. I would not be surprised if a dealer tech overlooked them.

if this is your problem. adjust them as needed - latching the hood completely and moving it, attempting to duplicate what it was doing.

It's not your hood making the noise, its your torque convertor. The transmission needs to come out to fix it. Sorry for the bad news.

It was the hood. Seems to be a problem with this model MDX. The hood skin comes separated from the frame. A little bit of 3M Bond and the problem is finally gone! Thanks for the info guys. Oh and the torque converter is definitely a problem with my 2004 MDX. I really need to stop collecting cars and start selling some of them...haha
