What do i need to swap a J30 into my 95 accord V6?
I have a 1995 Honda Accord V6 and recently found out one of my lifters was bad. My car has a stock C27 in it and I know this engine is bad for this. I also know I'm Better off replacing all of them. Instead of doing all that and worrying about other problems popping up, a friend offered me his J30 out of his newer Vtec Acura. What do I need to do the switch. I know his engine is just a newer version of mine basically (I say lightly) so I'm told they are compatible.
it's not impossible to put a J30 in place of a C27, but it's not easy , straighforward or even advisable.
as i see it your two best options to chose between are to bravely attempt to fix the C27 you have or cut your losses, dump the car and find something else.
Shmallow is correct. Anything is possible... Just not that easy. You would probably have an easier time swapping in a c30. Then again, I do not know. The J series and C series have different cylinder bank angles.
