D16y7 with y8 manifold

Default D16y7 with y8 manifold

Ok I knw there's a bunch of threads on this swap but I'm still super confused.i wanna run my stock y7 ecu,I have a y8 manual manifold but from wat I'm reading its harder 2 swap cus of the iacv so my question is do I take the iacv off and plug the holes?and am I better of using the y7 throttle body or the y8?and no I will not buy a y8 automatic manifold as I have 2 y8 manifold laying in my garage and both are Manuel.plz help me out.

Yes ive seen it and read it.ive read many and they are all kind of different so thats wats comfusing.as for my questions still need the answers if any1 dsnt mind.

-use the y8 manifold, leave the two wire bolted up nothing connected
-use the y7 throttle body with 3 wire IACV connected, y8 throttle rotor

Why not swap the head and wire harness too. This is a lot of work for 3 or 4 hp or just a cool sound..

Isnt the y7 throttle body smaller?

Got it done thanks guys.all i did was left the iacv on but pluged the one from the y7 manifold and zipped tied it.worked great

That manifold swap nets maybe 1-3 hp over the Y7 ITM waste of time....

Yea i didnt do it for that reason.i just bought this car with a z6 that had busted rings so i bought a y7 engine from sum guy and the y7 manifold wasnt all there and since i had to complete y8 manifolds i put one to use.and needed to get my car running since i work and have a kid that i need to get around with.im not one of those guys that all they do is work on hondas and dedicate all their time to them.i have a life.so if u dnt have nothing nice to say or are helpfull at all stfu and dnt comment on ****.

Public forum...was stating that you would gain maybe 1-3hp ppl come on here thinking a mine-me will be some huge change or that an ALL motor D is practical

Missing sencors and lil crack on it.yea but i didnt do it for hp,anyways the car is running and i can get to work now so im good

Why didn't you just use the Z6 manifold you already had off of your original engine?


Even better question, but why didn't you just spend the $200 or so bucks on a ring & gasket set to rering your Z6 engine? You could've done it on the car in less than 4 hours with basic hand tools, a drill, and a ball hone but instead you've downgraded to an engine that produces less power.

but not everyone has the "know-how" to do that type of work. or are just too scared to mess up.
