Default Good price?

So I'm getting my next car and I don't have much(none) experience with the rsx.

Ok so I'm looking at a 04 rsx base model. 126k miles, clean title, no leaks, only had 1 tiny scratch on rear bumper, clutch doesn't stick, car drives great but not perfect only because its a 9 year old car.

The asking price was 9,500 I brought it down to 8,900. This is a dealer price so of course they are going to charge a little more than usual.

But I have to say the car looks sounds and feel amazing! I have never seen a car this old in such great condition!!!! Tomorrow I'm bringing my uncle who's used to work as a mechanic but doesn't know very much on how's h this car is worth, only going to tell me if the engine is good or not. But from what I saw and heard it looks great.

So is this a good price? Or am I an idiot for even thinking about it? Please tell
Me what I should be asking about this car or what I should be worried about!! Much appreciated!!

when it comes down to older cars, I would stay away from dealers, one because looks can be deceiving and 2 because of the price... just make sure you guys do a good inspection, and remember that you gotta save up extra for some maint. for ex. valve adjustment, clutch, catalytic converter (Seems to be a common prob), etc

My uncle will find every little mistake! But if all goes well and he tells me it's in great shape, is $8,900 a fair price?

I agree with everyone, price is too high. Be patient when looking for a new car, don't just jump on one that looks appealing, unless it's a great deal, which this isn't.

theyre a dealer right?? try to make a deal, lower the cost and high jack the interest rate on it... pay the principal and you're left with a cheaper cost

Just take your time and be patient with it. Whether it takes weeks or months, you want to be satisfied once you finally decide to pick up a car. Especially if youre going to be spending alot of time/money on it.

I dont know why so many people want to buy these high mileage old *** cars. Get an 06 with lower miles or go home. Your going to buy an 04 with almost 130k on it really?? Your going to pay just as much as you would for an 06 type s because your going to pay the difference in repairs keeping up with a high mileage car. Not worth it.
