Default My welding log

I'm starting to tig weld more at work in my free time. We have a couple sychrowave 250's so I'm getting practice in whenever I can.

I welded a bit back when I was 19. I first started on an arc welder and then a mig welder. I think that's the best way to learn since mig is so easy to get the hang of.

Im hoping to get as much feedback as I can from this thread and maybe help out anyone else who is just starting out tig welding.

Most of my work will be with stainless steel, that's pretty much all we use at the plant. We make meals for sara lee, jenny craig, boston market etc. (Electric Forklift Tech)

So ill be adding pics whenever I lay down some bead's and hopefully start getting involved in some of the big projects we have going on around the plant and post some of that stuff up.

The problem I'm dealing with now is getting my heat settings down for thin metals. Ill post a pic of the syncrowave tomorrow so you guys can maybe give me some pointers on how to get the full potential out of it. Right now they use strike to arc. ( No foot pedal)

Here's a couple pass's I've made recently.

Even on test pieces make sure you're thoroughly cleaning them; doesn't make any sense to practice if you're not working in realistic conditions.
