Default d16y7 catalytic converter question.

Ok I got a p0420 code and I need to change my cat. I ordered a aftermarket off ebay for a good price however I read somewhere that I might need to change my whole manifold because the cat is wielded onto the manifold as one piece. my engine type is d16y7 a 2000 civic dx. Now my question is this:

Based from this video here:

This guy is working on a 2000 civic but I am not sure what type of model (ex, dx, idk...) and he was able to change his cat without taking apart the entire manifold. Seems like a easy procedure however I am not sure if I am able to do what he did in the video or would I require more work to be done.

Please help because I really want to get this check engine light off. When I replaced my o2 sensor up top by the manifold the check engine light went off after 3 days only to return again saying I need to change my cat.

Here is the part I ordered from ebay. It was suppose to be a direct fit on my civic. BTW I do not stay in CA where the emissions is crazy.

^ That vid has to be from a ex. All 96-00 civic dx/lx/vp/cx have the cat on the manifold. It the cat you bought doesn't have a manifold attached, you need a ex style manifold to go with it.

You didn't buy a catalytic converter. You bought a "test pipe". You bought the wrong thing. It won't work with your exhaust system. You also cannot buy the cat separate for your model car as the cat and manifold are integrated.

The model YOU want looks something like this

Ok thanks. How easy is it installing the manifold on my own? Is it doable? Would I need to raise my engine up any like say for installing a motor mount front driver side? I'm just working with a basic jack and jack stands. Nothing to fancy here.

unplug the o2 sensor.
Remove the nuts/bolts holding it to the downpipe
remove nuts/and or bolts that hold the manifold assembly to the head.
Lift it out and reverse order to install.

You can get an aftermarket replacement from several parts retailers...partsgeek or rockauto are a couple of them for the sub-$200 range that include the manifold/cat combo with all the appropriate hardware and gaskets.

example (from partsgeek):
