I Tried to search this topic, not much for results and no videos of anyone who did it.

Anything can be done, you just need a welding machine.

That said, you do realize it will not at ALL sound like it does on a bike, right?

 

I've only seen it in person once. not sure on the manufacturer - but it was a d series N/A engine and it had an awesome sound.


that being said, be wary of back-pressure. using such a small exhaust could do damage to the motor and/or blow rivets out on exhaust.

My Yoshi exhaust has rivets all over it. or maybe these are the elusive muffler bearings..

 

yes there is. on a motorcycle muffler, the packing usually is riveted to the outside.

 

You said exhaust, not muffler. I assumed you were talking about the Civic exhaust, not the bike muffler.

What's the pipe inlet size, 1.5"? I doubt it's much bigger than a stock Civic exhaust. Back pressure, especially on a stock D, is comical.

It would be an interesting tip to see sticking out the bottom of your car, sure. Weld one on. There shouldn't be any problems, as long as you aren't running FI.

 

Most of those motorcycle exhaust cans are pretty durable. I did a lot of mods and custom shorty pipes for guys back in the day and a lot of the internals on yoshi pipes are titanium. If your running NA your not going to blow the packing out on the pipe. The only downside to the yoshi cans is that they were kinda pitchy in the sound.

Find something for a hayabusa or ZX14 since they have similar displacement to a D motor

 

This is going to be inflammatory but, stop being a ***** and get it done? If you like the "look" so much then buy a muffler and have it welded on.

What happened to the Honda pioneers that used to just DO things? Now we have people waiting for the next guy to be the first one.

 

Stock pipe size on a bike is pretty small, not sure what it is on the 1 L bikes but I doubt its going to be any advantage...

 

if it is atleast 2" inlet i would say throw it on there and make a vid and let us hear it!
