Default Conflicting info: does Skunk2 manifold require aftermarket throttle body?

I need a Skunk intake manifold. Some say the stock throttle body works fine. The Skunk website says it requires an aftermarket TB. Anyone know?

The site says "requires" for the fact that the opening is bigger. Portmatch the stock throttle body or get an aftermarket that matches it. The stock throttle body will "work fine", but its a bottle neck if you do.

And why do you NEED a s2 manifold? Better ones out there for the money.......

i just installed mine yesterday im running 64mm Bseries throttle body still wanna go bigger tho. and a word of advice when you install it make sure you mount the iacv before you slide it on becuase fitment is so tight you come really close to the firewall and brake porportion valve well you do at least if you have an eg chasis

Be warned that you also need to drill out the threads where the IAT sensor goes.

No, you don't "need" a bigger t/b. As JuggerNaut said, it will create a choke point in your intake system. At the same time, there's really no need to go bigger than 65mm. Anything more is for extreme all motor or boosted (aka:race, not street) builds.

Thank you very much.

I'm putting this D15b in a Mini Cooper so the intake has to be cut in order to fit otherwise I'd be happy with the stock intake. I just need something with straight runners so it can be cut and welded back together. Would like to find something cheaper that can be cut but not sure if there's any other options.

I know they swap b series in them fairly regularly, a guy on here two type Rs was working on a B18C5 in a mini. I know he is in Pa/Philly, I met him in real life but do not know his SN.

I bet that K swap is insanely fast.
