i recently bought a 99 civic coupe with a ls swap( b18a1) was told it had head and some motor work in it by a descent friend of mine ...but the harness is all hacked up .. I live in ct and need the car to pass emissions since it hasent been there since 2010 and has 10 dtc's on it. I need to know what harnesses and computer would work? there's cut plugs and all kinds of b.s . The motor is obd1 and i believe tht they used the stock harness and distributor because the distributor only lines up with one bolt hole on the head. am i right ???.... anyways i would like to know wat u honda guys use to get a car legit as possible when i comes to passing. i would also lik to know weather i have a obd2a or obd2b system on this. I'm a cummings guy and am new to the honda game as far a swapping goes

any help would be greatly appreciated

99 is obd2b. Post pics of the harness and motor.

 

First it would be good to find out what ecu you have now and pull the engine codes. Check the FAQ above to see how to do that and post them.

 

will post pics later ... its a p75 ecu and im pretty sure im running a 99 sohc harness and sohc distribtor. the harness thou is all hacked up.

You gotta lotta issues. Look in the FAQ above for the codes list. But right off you have some MAP sensor, idle air control valve, evap emissions and one auto code. Is the car auto? If not you may have an auto ecu. What are the numbers and letters on the ecu besides p75.

 

You'll need to host the pics on somewhere like photobucket and the up the picture link between the [img][/img] codes.

 

Many issuses with dtc's yes. lol the harness is cut and plugs are missing for example the charcole canister has a pressure switch on it and the wires are there jst the plug is missing =( so thts prob the evap code im getting ... so i fig ill install an other harness. Should i use a 99 ek sohc non vtec harness or an integra ls harness ?? The car is not auto its 5speed

You need to use a harness from 99-00 civic only. You want to use the harness from the 99-00 si as the harness from the sohc use a different distributor plug.

The ecu have is an auto ecu.

 

So the si harness is a plug n play deal ?? and the civic sohc harness requires some mod to fit but will work ? also what about my dizzy if only 1 of the 3 holes line up to the head does it mean its a sohc dizzy and not a dohc one ???

 

And as far as a computer goes 99-01 integra ls ???

 

There should be numbers on one of the dizzy ears(part bolt goes in). Should say td something. What is the number on your dizzy?

 

i jst looked at the dizzy there is nothing anywhere the has td stamping.

 

Here's a pic showing where the dizzy number is. Yours might be hard to see.
