Default ACL 5M1959H-.25 Bearings (.010" Oversize)

Has anybody successfully ran these bearings?

I'm in an ordeal where the main journals on my crank measure in at 2.155 all across. My helm inc manual, ACL race bearing site, and Evans tuning's write up All state that OE spec is from 2.1646 - 2.1654. So I'm curious if this crank is even any good, or if I should be all set as long as my clearances are on point?

I was told the crank has a nitride coating that if too much is removed from the journal, I will go past this layer. ACL has the .25mm oversize bearings that will leave me right around where I need to be but I want this right the first time around!

thanks in advance,
-ray

Technically thats undersized.

Most people here will shy away from cut cranks. Its unknown exactly how thick the nitrided layer is. I've been told its around .010" which is where yours is cut. I also dont know if its the end of the world if its not nitrided. But the problem with these bearings is if they dont give the clearance you need you don't have any other options except to machine more. When you can get another used crank for $100~150 it's almost not worth your time. It's your call.

I'm curious where exactly it is and also why would ACL even have .010 Undersized bearings if its not safe. Thanks for the input

What are your intentions with this motor? DD or full out drag car? I have used cut cranks and undersized bearings on mild street stuff and have never had any issues. If you're planning on building a 900HP monster then I'm sure sourcing another crank for around $150 wont hurt you.

Not 900hp but 550+ , the block is sleeved also so I plan to upgrade in the future.

Looks like I'll be better off sourcing a new Crankshaft, was just curious if anybody actually ever used these.. I only found them in one place and it was 'out if stock'. Thanks again
