Default Can this vacuum dashpot be deleted?

This thing is giving me interference issues with a cruise control setup. From what I can tell, it's purpose is to ease the throttle down gently when you let up on the accelerator.

How critical is having this? If I were to delete it, would he car die of I dropped the throttle too fast or something? I noticed my sohc ZC never had one.

I think that's a fast(cold?) idle thing try unplugging it and caping the line if you have problems keep it but I don't know why you'd want to remove it

As I said, it's a causing a major problem with the cruise control kit I'm trying to install.

How critical is having it? Can I get away ok without?

Already have the aftermarket pretty much installed. Just trying to figure out what the consequences of not having that dashpot would be.

ahhhhhhhhhh just curious. the idle will probably dip down and almost shut off before the ecu has a chance to correct the idle

I deleted it on a B16, I'm pretty sure you could do without it. Try and worst case you have to put it back on.
