Icon6 1999 Ek Couple Engine Rebuild Problems :/

Okay so I have

Car = Honda Civic 1999 Coupe EX Single Cam VTEC

Intake Manifold - D16Y8 / 1999 / Stock Vtec / Air Injection JB Welded
Cylinder Head - D16Y7 / Year Unknown / No Vtec
Short Block - D16Y8 / 1999 / Stock Vtec
Transmission - Automatic

SO..

Short story is the D16Y8 short block had spun bearings.
So I paid some guys off the street to put fix some things.
A used nice crankshaft from a D16Y7 went into the D16Y8 plus new bearings.
Took 2 rods and pistons from D16y7 Installed into D16Y8.
Put new crankshaft key in last after I put back on the plate.
I put 5 huge bolts into the Tranny to connect it to the D16Y8.
Dropped the whole engine into the car and then the problems started...

*I couldnt manuelly turn the crank to bolt 8 screws on the drive plate.
*I got 2 screws in but wasnt able to turn it at all.
*Plus my automatic shifter wont go into Park or Reverse with or without key or with or with out battery.
*I know for a fact the guys had no Torque Wrench

Well **** don't even try to run it if no TQ wrench was used....why did you let this happen NOW you're going to have to rip it all apart and re tq everything. no I don't recommend just tq'ing the bolts where they are now.

Okay so I will start over
I will take the whole thing out and reteach myself everything.

Any other advice with the problems I stated with shifting, tranny or swapped parts?

Start reading. Do some research. Buy a torque wrench. Get a service manual.

I think the dome is different on the y7 piston's that's why a mini me has higher compression then a stock y8 . why would you use a y7 head on a y8 block ? not like these motor's are super rare or expensive. you should just buy a complete motor .

So you payed some random no name "mechanic" that owns no torque wrenches to rebuild your motor? I guarantee its barely put together.

I just need a service manuel at this point so I have to go back and forth in PDF.

I forgot all about the piston shapes. I guess thats my its bad to use different pistons, the valves wont fit... Im still figuring out if rebuild or buy a motor is better..

Yeah paid some guys to install crankshaft and bearings. I did everything else.

Last time I bought a used motor 1 piston and rod was completely destroyed inside after I opened the oil pan. Bring it right back.

So at this point I have a few options.

1. Get a service manual and rebuild the same sh*t.
2. Get another used motor
3. Do a fresh rebuild with
4. IDK im stuck.
