Doin a lil bit of shaving on the bay, not a pro on the filler smoothing but it's coming along.

what kind of welder and filler u using bro??

I'm using a mig with 75% c02 and 25% argon, just cool enough not to blow holes lol

 

Thanks, hell yes it's alot I work, I went and got a 3" DA sander to help . My fingers were close to bleeding hand sanding haha.

My fugen valve cover all shaved, timing belt cover cut completely off , and 10an fittings I just welded on. Gonna sand blast it and paint it light gold with metallic flake

 

For sale BTW paints great on it , paint slightly coming off around where the nuts go but when the hardware is on you can't even tell

i would strongly urge you to use All Metal filler first then a super fine layer of fine filler.. the all metal is super hard and withstands engine vibration... however you must sand it with 50 grit paper hence doing the final coat of fine filler lol

 

I'm honestly not laying the filler that thick, I've done a few thin coats . I've welded and ground down most of the holes.
I have never used all metal before. Most of people on this forum I've messaged about filler said I should be fine with bondo/evercoat.
Anyone have there thin layers of evercoat or bondo crack out of the bay?

 

^^I have but if u use a quality filler like evercoat rage or another good one youll be fine bro.

 

Ok I used evercoat light weight filler first , I ran out so I got a small container of bondo, like I said though after sanding its been thin. Slowy coming along lol

Here's some more smoothing I did today, really starting to come along we'll being I mostly build motors and don't do much body work.

 

Small update : getting close to finishing the smoothing of the filler . Possibly in primer this weekend !!

Coming out clean!

 

Yea it's comin out decent , but everytime I turn around there's a high or low spot and my patience is wearing thin lol, it's bout 80% filled and smoothed , I would definantly pay someone to finish the smoothing so I could get it in primer and paint it lol.

 

Doin a lil bit more hole shaving on the driver side front , I'll get to a point and be like might aswell that too lol.
