no pwer to main relau pin 7 (fuel pump)
make sure that the ground wires at the thermostat housing are connected, clean and secure - these grounds are for the main relay, ECU and most of the sensors
Grounds at thermostat are connected and look good. im about to get a hammer and beat this thing and push it off a bridge. i have no idea what made it do this. it has an ls vtec with b18 head and the swap looks clean along with harness. the ground comes from the thermostat you say, but where does its power come from if it has something to do with its power? does it come from the ecu? or some other location?
My CRX was doing the same thing. I find out that the circuit board inside the ecu that gives power to the fuel pump was burnt. If you pop open your ecu, you should see all of the circuits and soldering points. Check to make sure there are no black burnt spots, solder joints that have come undone, or any wierd burnt metal smells.
If you can borrow someone else exact model ecu, plug it in and see if your fuel pumps kick on.

I've been having similar issues with my car on and off for a couple years. On the hottest days it would crank and crank but not fire up. I would always just open the windows for 10-20 minutes and then it would start right up. Finally took the main relay out a couple weeks ago and resoldered it. I drove it on a few hot days, and a couple times it hesitated starting but i blipped the gas and got it going. NOt sure if i didnt hit the gas if it would have.
Well yesterday i drove it to work despite knowing how hot it would be, i went out to the car for lunch and try to start it. It just cranked and cranked and wouldnt fire but popped once; i didnt have my whole body in the car and couldnt hit the gas...perhaps a missed opportunity? Then i went back out at 330 when i was leaving and same thing. I left the windows open for an hour but it just wouldnt start, granted it was still ~85* and super humid. I could hear the fuel pump wasnt not kicking on , and my fuel pressure guage on the filter said 0.
I took the main relay out and brought it home and resoldered again, put it in at 10pm and it still wouldnt start. This morning i went and bought a new main relay and put it in, and it still wouldnt start! >:0
I remembered glancing at this last night in my searches....
So i took your advice and actually noticed one of the little cylinder things in there (name of it?) looks like it bursted and there was a little black area to one side. I grabbed an LS ecu from a friend and put it in, and it fired right up!!!
I was able to limp it home on that. I have never experienced an ecu failure first hand, and had always been skeptical when people would advise or claim they had one. Just wanted to +1 your comment man and share my experience. Going to put my old main relay back in and see how it works today now that it is 92* and stupid humid.
cheers

Those are capacitors.
They are known to start getting old/wear out after 5+ years.

Awesome thanks man! Thats my next step; i wanted to see if this ecu can be repaired. I was planning on buying a new one with a hondata soon anyway, but i always like to fix things hehe Now i just have to find some procedures for that.

I'm glad I could help. I ordered my capacitors from MCM electronics. It's a good site with a bunch of useful electronic type stuff, Radio Shak on steroids lol.
