Default EK Build. Racecar or street?

Hey guys,
Was wondering if I should totally invest my time and money into making my EK a RACECAR or street. I love racing. I love driving. It's my first build and I'll soon have enough money that I can do a sweet build either way.

First off what's a good alarm system to buy for the best theft protection and possibly tracking? And my transmission is whining in 5th how do I fix it?

There is an Audio and security subforum as well as a transmission one. Start in there.

Create a thread with a good title stating your problem, such as "d16 transmission whining in 5th gear"

Also state all information about your car, we know nothing right now about it so we can not help you.

Ask a specific question please. Not one of these generic chat room ones.
There is no such thing as "best".

Ask a tech question and you'll get better help.

removable steering wheels and ones with hub locks are always popular. at that point, almost any alarm will work but viper has been a top brand for years. as you dont know if to build street or race you should just build for daily driving as you as you've not done anything prior at either arena. "building" a race car and blindly throwing $ at anyone but 'doood' is a recipe for disaster.

i assume this will be a coupe or hatch?

if you were indeed to build a race car... what type of racing? a 10 second 1/4 mile is a quick death when you have to make a sharp turn. the build aspects almost completely change. at certain speeds you will not be able to race a track without an approved cage. at the track aspect you cant just spend $200 on 4 tires and call it a day. you want to find the optimal compound for traction. for drag you want a lite set of wheels, for track you want something a bit well known and proven to hold true after a few hard runs and not be lopsided or off center. motor setups change, transmissions and gearing, interior choices.

yeah, since affordability is not a factor. do the proven thing, grab a type r 5 lug conversion, grab some recaro's, get a b16 or b18c1, don't sweat the down time for a k series, really throw a turn, get a super charger too. turbos are great, in fact awesome. but STILL, super chargers are instant spool, no boost lag but less top end. a turbo is only as responsive as your motors initial power, i.e. a t78 in a supra is the wrong turbo for a stock d16. a turbo too small doesnt match the ability of the super charger, but also again, the supercharger doesnt match the output of an appropriate turbo. and dont think "hey, i'll do a super charger and turbo", its kind of A LOT! mcguires built an itr with that about a decade ago, it ran, it functioned, it was tempermental.

a real good idea is to check build threads, you'll find a look you like, that is dope and you can use as a basis to tailor to your own suit.

best of luck bro.

I have a compustar two way. It's great cuz you can adjust sensitivity, you can silence the chirps when u lock/unlock/start, but I think the best antitheft is a steering wheel hub for aftermarket wheels that you can lock. I can't remember who makes it, not nrg tho, but to install or remove your steering wheel you need a key. Thieves can't put a wheel of their own on, so unless they got a tow truck, your car is gunna
Be tough to take. Don't waste money on your d series trans if your gunna swap it
