Default new from sc

Hey guys i need help. i have a 4 speed 90 hatchback. i was leaving work the other night and as started to push the gas pedal the car didn't want to accelerate and eventually shut off. i could get it started back up but it would shut off about 10 seconds later. I'm being told its not getting enough fuel and that i need to change the fuel filter. any other ideas of what could be causing this?

Do a full tune up if you haven't already. Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, oil, all filters, transmission fluid.

the car just had a lot of work done to it. just about everything on it is new or fairly new. everything was taken apart and redone or replaced. my car has been sitting for about three weeks now and i noticed it also has an oil leak. i havent had the chance due to weather to start looking at everything. i know some about cars but not everything there is to know.
