NEED HELP 1996 ACCORD 2.2 VTEC
I have a 1996 honda accord lx 2.2 vtec, well my motor **** to bed so i figured id order a jdm 2.2 vtec when i bought it, said 94-97 accord figured it would work well didnt do enough research and found out after the fact and recived a 94 or 95 (OBD1) that the CKP was in the Distr. not on the crank. oops. well I tried wiring into my harness to the Distr. well I have the motor in and it just pops and farts wont run sounds like timing, tried playin around with the Distr. and no luck. So my question is do I need a OBD1 ECU and a jumper harness or did I make a major screw up and its not going to work at all? there both F22B1. Any Help would be appreciated thank you.
Use the harness and all electronics(as well as what was advised by holmesnmanny) from the old engine. They're 99% identical from 94-97, just about the only thing that changed was the location of some sensors and other OBD1 vs OBD2A garbage. Should be plug and play with both engines out and next to eachother.
also, on your 'bad' F22B1, what died on it? Is the head still good? PM me about it.
