Transmission repair manual?
Hi, new to forum here. I have a 1999 Accord LX, 2.3 engine with BAXA transmission, and I'm looking forward (if that is an appropriate expression, ha!) to the joys of possibly rebuilding the transmission in the near future.
Here's the first question: What would be the best repair manual to obtain for this job? Helm or ATSG? And does the standard Helm service manual include everything needed for transmission repair and testing?
I look forward to your input,

You can download the Honda manuals (for free). I'm not sure where anymore but it's not that hard to find. Ive had the 4 I needed for years. I've only owned 2 Hondas lol Hybrids FTW
Just buy one. Even if you don't use it for this, it's far and away the most valuable tool in my garage, and it's paid for itself many times over.
Hey, tnx one and all for the info. I've looked for the free download manuals on honda hookup and they only cover up to 1997, not the 6th gen like I need.
Just before I fork out $60 for a Helm manual, can anyone actually verify that it will have all info needed for complete rebuild of automatic transmission?
cheers!

If it's the 3" thick factory service manual, yes, it will have the auto trans section with complete service info.
Any chance you could cross reference another manual that might be hosted there? Did Prelude use the same?

Thanks everyone for the advice.
94CivicSi - that was actually a good hint to cross reference from the Prelude. Found a free manual on hondahookup.com that was very close, but in the end decided to purchase the full accord manual specific to my beast.
Ended up going with a download from "automanualsource.com" which has the full honda service manual in pdf file for $22, plus they mail you a CD as well.
I believe that brings us to the conclusion of this topic. I'll have other questions as I go along, but will start another thread.
Tnx again for the help, I appreciate it!

No. You cannot download it free from any easily found source. Scribd has it for $9.95 (Join fee) in pdf format.
It's been the last year or two that the free sources have been being pulled for copyright infringement.
OP's manual may have been one of the ones not freely available.
