Default GC coilovers vs Function & Form type 1

I want a nice ride on my cg3 accord DD, and only plan to lower it about an inch and a half give or take. I know the ground controls and koni yellows are a great setup but how about the ground controls with out the Koni's and my stock springs? And how would the GC's compare to the function and forms? Thank you in advance!

ground control's come with their own springs. what gave you the impression you could use your stock ones with them?

You realize Ground Controls are a sleeve over setup right? They probably won't even fit on your stock suspension to begin with and you wouldn't want to use your stock springs in any case.

Added to the fact lowering on your old stock suspension isn't the brightest idea and will kill them pretty quickly.

If you don't want to mess with things then get the Koni Reds (STR's) and some springs.

Koni Orange's are the STR.T's("street"). They're on special at tirerack right now for $61 per corner. If you have the money and don't want a ****, I highly suggest going with Bilstein's instead. Better valving, monotube design, can easily be revalved down the road by a monkey with a hammer. Too bad the Koni FSD's aren't made for Accords yet, those look really nice.

If you only want a half inch of lowering, H&R may have an OE sport kit. I REALLY like the H&R stuff, it's usually progressive, and provides nice rides. Otherwise, you can cut half a coil off the BOTTOM of the spring, maybe, if you're feeling randy and are knowledgeable/comfortable enough on the subject that you know exactly what you're doing.

Koni STR.T's and MAYBE a half coil cut on the stock springs are what I'm planning on. I need to get a gander at the stock springs to see if this is possible, though.

Looky what I found!

Honestly I was confused because of the website, it says they will fit your stock springs, as if you needed to use them. but how do these look? http://www.redlinemotive.com/part-nu...ol/4515.01.asp

Nearly everyone on 6thgenaccord.com says the way to go is the function&forms. According to them, the type 1s are amazing for the price, but you should get the type 2s if finances will allow it. I'm planning on getting the type 2s when I can finally afford it

I don't see anywhere that says stock springs, I do see where it says it fits over stock shocks.

*edit*

And do yourself a favor and go through some of the vendors on this website before buying from some random one. I only paid $300 for mine awhile back.

**** my bad, I meant stock shocks. And yeah I am going to keep looking around and wait until I get GC / koni. I don't want just a sleeve setup. Thanks for the input man.
