Default IAT steel flanges, any sources?

Hey guys, I am in need of a flange to weld onto my charge piping for an IAT sensor. Is there any places that have a steel version?

All i see are aluminum versions, but my pipes are steel so thats what I plan on using

Im guessing the flange would just get welded straight to the pipe the best you could? Flange being flat and pipe being round...

Just weld a nut on and convert to the CRV IAT... That would be much easier than hee-hawing around. You could grind the nut round and paint or polish it if looking at one more nut in your engine bay bothers you. Or just hide it. The wiring is snug, but with some work you can put the pigtails into the OBD-2 clip. I have done it MANY times before...

Or make a threaded bung for a GM IAT sensor. The thread size is 3/8 NPT, so making a threaded bung should be easily accomplished.

It's literally 3 holes.

I'd be inclined to just drill the steel charge piping and tap two of the holes.

Wouldn't the K-series IAT and plate work better for your application if that is the case?

If you didn't do it right you will crack the sensor. The center hole is recessed for the O-ring and its "guide". The O-ring is what seals it so if you were to do your route you would need to come up with a gasket or layer on the RTV - yuck.

I had steel charge pipes years ago. I just drilled the three holes put screws from the inside of the pipe with nuts on the outside and red locktite. then put the sensor on and two more nuts to hold the sensor on. worked like a charm

I would definetely like to retain the stock sensor. This car is OBD0 and everything works, dont wanna mess around to much

I never thought to simply drill and tap the charge pipe, possibly hammering it a bit flatter where I want to mount the sensor.

I wouldnt think there would be enough meat there in the sidewall thickness to get a decent thread, I'll try on a piece of scrap Ive got laying around from pie cuts

You could also go to lowe's and buy a piece of 1/4"weldable flat steel for 10 bucks and cut a piece off drill it tap it and weld It to the charge pipe

From what I can tell there is knowone selling them at all you should make a little run of them to make some $$ I will buy one for sure, not to picky on thickness, 1/4-3/8" should be fine

If youre able to do it I would love to buy one

My diy flanges always look poopy, sure they work, but rough angles and dull drill bits are just no fun. CNC flange for a few bucks to save time and look smexy would be ideal.

If it came down to it though yes I have the tools to make one in an hour or so

There ya go, i would make one and not get fancy with it just rectangular shape big enough for the sensor to ride on and geta nice weld on it if you do end up making it your self. Also put it on the underside of the charge pipe and you wont have to look at it.

I've gone from a GM sensor to a Honda sensor and back ( thinking the same as you about the range ) and never once saw any difference. This was on a Neptune powered crx

use a b20 IAT sensor

12X1.5 thread pitch . can use a nut or get a steel bung and tap it

Plugs into the factory harness? Where is that sensor located on the b20 engine?

Yes it plugs rigth in. Its the same sensor internally and plug wise just screws into the intake manifold VS the style that is held on with two screws
