Making our tail lights look modern, would LED bulbs make it brighter?
Hey guys, basically Im a little over the Crx oem tail lights and the lights output of the 2 basic squares our cars give. Makes the car look very dated IMO, would putting multi LED drop in replacement bulbs in the regular bulb sockets increase the light output through the lenses at all any maybe improve the look?
I cant find anything on the specific bulb #'s of if the LED style bulbs will even fit into our housings
Anyone had any success with this?

It sounds as if you're going to murder your CRX. CRXs never look dated, get out of here with that nonsense
Im retaining the stock Crx lenses bud dont get your panties in a bunch.
The lighting is to dim at night, I want to improve that

I went to napa.com, entered my vehicle and got the bulb style for each bulb(3157,194,ect.) then went to ijdmtoy.com and got my LED's there. I've already replaced my interior light and tag lights, waiting on my others to come in. Get extras so if one goes bad you have another to replace it with.
Yeh I just out new Narva bulbs (OEM style) and they're really bright. No need for LEDs, maybe give the lenses a cut and polish

i know what you're saying... i run LED reverse lights, but generally i get more light output to the sides around the car as opposed to directly back where I would need it. Try to find a style of bulb with the most straight output as opposed to the sides.
Are you talking about about turn signals and tail lights? Excluding headlights, modern cars use the same damn incandescent bulbs that EF's do. The 3057 in a 2012 Chevy truck tail light is the same bulb as the 2057 in a CRX tail light except that the sockets are different. If your lights are dim, something's not right with your car - dirty dull lenses, corroded connections, weak alternator, etc...
Also, lol at thinking LED's will make a 25 year old car look modern.

It sounds like your problem is the reflective surface behind the bulbs, if the chrome flakes off, or it gets covered in dirt your lights will look dim.
I had the same problem with an old lincoln I had once, after I separated the lenses from the unit, and cleaned and painted with chrome paint the "bowl" or whatever you call it behind the bulb, my tail lights seriously got 200% brighter.
The CRX tail lights are a pain to separate because it's glued instead of screwed, but it's possible with an oven or a heat gun, (and lots of care.)

You need 1156 and 1157 for the brake and reverse, 194 for the other small ones
buy red where red goes. otherwise the whitish blue of the led will make the color through the lenses pinkish yellow.
Also, I'm only using all the led bulbs minus the turn signals and brake light bulb
You need to install resistors for the low wattage of the led. with led brake light bulb your lights turn on whenever you press the brake
and led turn signals will give you hyper blink
