Default CRX h22 swapped owners; pictures!

For those of you whose done a h22 swap into your crx, please post pictures of your car. Please list what mounts you used, and how low your car is lowered. I'm aiming toward the esp kit, however I need to see more pictures of other crx's with this kit.

i got his kit, but my car is rhd and i had to remake them all and had to swap to rbc manifold to get the motor back far enough for what i thot was good axle alignment.

Hey man,

I bought my crx with the swap. I the mounts are hasport.my mods are cai, aftermarket headers (not sure of the brand), and exhaust (ill look at the tip and let you know).

why do you want to go the h22 route? to be honest I wish I had a b series. prior to getting the car i personally thought it would be cool because of high stock hp, and torque. but the difference between the torque and hp are just stupid in my opinion. naturally no ps or a/c (not a big issue to me). other pain is changing the alternator. ill try to snap a show of how much its lower in the front later. im not sure if the attachment i tried to add will be on here

Thanks for the picture, however I think you guys misunderstood what my initial question was. I wanted you guys to post pictures of how low your car is lowered, because I know that with the esp kit, there seems to be some ground clearance issues. Thanks.

Reason being is because it's a cheaper alternative to the b18c5. No racing will be done with this swap, only to have the power when needed so I can keep up with traffic. What other maintenance issues have you run into that is a pain in the ***? Is it possible to do timing belt, etc.. without pulling the motor? My plan is to do this swap with AC.

ive got an h22 setup with the innovative mounts. the mounts them self are ok the only down side was i had to shim the motor down 1/2 inch so my hood would close right. as for how low i am i dont remember how much i lowered it its been awhile but if it help any the lowest point the header is 3 inches from the ground with 15/205/50 tires.

Can you post a picture? How much room do you have between the tire and fender?

I'm assuming about 2-3 finger gap? I like to dump my car pretty low.

yes its about 3 fingers gap. sadly i had to raise it this high because within the first week of it being dumped i had bottomed out and my header cracked open so i felt like raising it until the lowest point was about 3 inches to the ground. i plan so get an sir style hood so i can raise the motor a little for some ground clearance so i can go a little lower. sorry for the crappy cellphone pic it was super late and she is hiding in the garage for now.

Yes, I believe you're right. I think I might just stick to the hf motor for now, and will probably swap in a d15z1 in the future.

Game Over! Best Kit on the Market for many reasons. I had about a 2" drop on my car and still have about 3.5" of clearance which is plenty.

NA 13.4@106 180 compression in all cylinders... never had a chance to get it up to par. Probably was a mid to thigh 12 second car on slicks.

Sorry for what I'm sure is a stupid question, but what is that loud speaker shaped thing mounted just behind the driver side engine mount tower? whats it do?

edit: duh, I think I just answered my own question... car alarm?

Well I'm not going to mislead you, uphill will be a battle if you happen to have a LOT of weight in the car for whatever reason and you won't be blowing past every other vehicle on the road but it'll get you from A to B with a little bit of pep.

And yeah, that's a speaker for the alarm as far as I can tell.

Ill post a picture of front and back today for you to see. I meant to do that earlier and got side tracked. As far as keeping up with traffic.... thats no problem haha. as far as ac, i had a few mechanics look at it because i live in az, and they basically laughed at me. so i would love it if you did it and could prove everybody wrong, because its hot as hell out here and i want some freakin ac!

the hood closing issue is no joke. my hood has some of the underside cut out, and still does not fit properly. That is one issue I have had. Other issues include (not sure if its because of the swap) some voltage issues (which was fixed with a new alternator even though autozone was saying it was fine), for some reason i also had a slightly too large of a belt on the alternator. i occasionally have some heatinng issues which i think might have been resolved with a new belt. other than that im 100% issue free. i love this swap

This kit was the very first thing we ever made and mastered, years ago. We came out with before all the rest. I spent 2 months R&D to get this kit perfect on my personal car. Clears stock hood, clears firewall. Great and straight axle alignment. Better axle/midshaft choice. Best ground clearance. Plus I am here to answer all questions since I have done it quite a few times.

The swap is a no brainer. JDM H22 OBD1 at the time and still is roughly half the price of a JDM ITR swap. JDM H22 will make roughly 20 whp and 30 more ft lbs of torque more. You don't have to wrap the RPMs up to get the power it is all midrange hp and torque. H motors is pretty much all I play with these days.

I have also done a few H23V Blue Top EF swaps with bolt ons and stock internals getting about 215 hp and 175 ft lbs of torque. The torque of these motors is nice

ESP.net can you tell us what speedo cable you use, and what pulley? I'm thinking of getting your 800$ set for the swap

strong H22 with some bolt ons would be NIIIICE, and as stated is a relatively cheap engine

If I was go to back to n/a, its the route I would take
