1995 integra ls, motor all stock.

I got a code 41 and was wondering could this cause my car to run rich.

When i shift gears, it makes a popping noise like popcorn but isnt as loud like the popping of a backfire, is this a sign of running rich?

 

Yes 100% that's you primary o2 ! replace it and watch the car run normal again. IIRC it's the cars main(if not only) thing to go off as far as setting AFR's for your car.
