D16z6 eagle/vitara 75.5 break in stock ECU???
Im ready to run my rebuild engine full rebuild oem valves etc. head resurfaced block/eagle rods/vitara 75.5 pistons, crankshafts polished etc. arp head studs.
new other parts.
Can i run my oem d16z6 engine ecu. i am going to go turbo t3t4 after i get enough money. also i want to break in the engine.
can i break in an engine drive it daily with the oem d16z6 ecu??
the vitara/eagles is low comp... i could handle but is it bad for the motor.
i need to get this running asap got almost everything in just need to know if i can use the ecu.
anybody run stock non turbo d16z6 vitara 75.5 motor eagle rods w/ stock z6 ecu???

Ew. I guess you can do it if you haven't upgraded the injectors. And you break the engine in on the dyno. That or run it hard.
Muckman might not be taking into account your loss of compression ratio though, i believe he is a B series guy. I tried to run my vitara build n/a on a Pg7 ecu and it ran like a bag of crap. Needed to chip the ecu and tune it (mainly timing) before it pepped up and ran better
That's why most people go with the custom length rods when running Vitaras. I wouldn't attempt a Vitara build without them.

You won't endanger the motor by doing it, if that's what you're worried about. As long as you're running stock fuel pressure, stock injectors, it will be fine. Will it run like a pig? Yep, ***** gonna be slow as hell. But since it's only temporary it's not a big deal.
Im aware of the loss of compression. Itll be lacking ignition timing to make up for the loss of cylinder pressure but it doesnt have to be fast for break in, just safe. And it will be plenty safe. Advance the distributor if it runs like crap. It doesnt havent to be exact for NA breakin. Theres a large safety margin for NA, especially on such low compression.
I'd make sure the wideband is hooked up too and verify A/F. When I changed from 9.7:1 to 9.0:1 my A/F was off. This surprised me as I didn't think A/F was affected by CR but when I posted on here everyone told me this is normal. I can't remember if the tune went rich or lean on the lower CR, I'd have to find my old thread.
