Default Domani Inspired EJ8 Coupe

Projekt Bella

i picked up this 2000 EJ8 shell in February for a $600 came with fat fives, wire harness all mounts and even a single cam transmission and full d16y8 intake manifold

body is in fairly good condition just a cracked tail light dented trunk and a full small dings here and there bad part about it was previous owner took the 2000 front off nd put a 1996 front on....idk why but i knew that had to come off....heres pics when i first got it

I bought a set hasport mounts and a brand new si t-bracket from honda so i can drop my b20vtec swap from my EG into my EK

pulled the motor out and decided to take some goofy pics for memories lol

before i put the swap in i got rid of all the a/c parts, cruise control, and washer fluid

once i got the motor in i was tired of the 96 end so i bought a 1.6 EL front end without the grill and got a new trunk

heres a pic after threw the front on real quick

During the huge snow storm we had on the East coast the snow ended up tearing the front bumper off

got tired of the green so i primered it before i got the whole car painted (lip thats on it is a 96 type r replica lip

decided to buy a couple goodies for it bought a whale ***** intake, blox shift **** and ctr rep rear lip

got a pretty good deal on a set of omni one piece coils and finally found a grill for my front end heres a few pics of them installed with the 2 sets of rims i had (still needed to install the rear coilovers and align the front

ended up trading the xxr's for these pink rota rb's just for the hell of it

got bored and decided to paint the front silver and paint the hood with chalkboard paint also painted the side skirts, rear lip, and trunk lip also and got my hands on a rear visor, hid's, and oem honda fit lip for the front

Yikes. Looks like a mess to me. Too many colors and replica parts. Not my flavor at all.

Look, I hate Brice, but once you post up a car in these forums, you gotta deal with people's opinion. Otherwise, what would be the purpose of posting? You can't ever expect a whole bunch of back patting 90% of the time. Malicious or not.

Personally, I would have gotten the body straight before doing anything else.

^ Agreed.

People think when they do 10 different colors on their car, cover body panels with stickers, or use chalkboard paint and "get peoples attention", that it's a good thing... I can assure you, they're just trying to figure out wtf you were thinking.

I'm all for people doing things to the beat of their own drum. It's what keeps the "scene" tolerable now-a-days. My only gripe is how you painted your bay. Brake lines, all the nuts and bolts, the tops of your coilovers, are all painted blue. Makes it feel kind of cheap.

Nice attitute. That's why hondas get harrased so much, because of ignorant ricers like you that half-*** and Fast and Furious every nice specimen of hondas left.

Your car looks like complete ****. At least try to wash it before buying that next baller part.

Is he why Honda owners get harassed? Or is it people like you that do the harassing just because you don't like his car? You're more of the problem than him, so kindly stfu douche bag.
Now, the bay looks good to me. Color choice depends on the owners liking, so that isn't a factor in if it's a nice car or not. You like the pink with the blue, more power to you. In my opinion, If you got the hood to sit flush, paint matched it, and lost the wrap on the passenger fender, the car would look excellent.

You are correct. I like to maintain and take good care of my honda, while, on the other hand, we got kids with no money/time or that have all of that, but simply cannot put 1+1 together and make a proper car.

But i think those things are whats hot now, right? Since we cant build a proper car, lets half-*** everything and call it a 'trend', hella-cool, totally ill. Parts that dont fit ( or owners that dont put any effort on making them fit ), short-cuts everywhere, and etc.

For instance, why the hell would you bother to do a front-end swap if you cant even fix the gawd damn motherfuckin dents on your bumper/trunk/doors ? Its like going to the prom with some nice *** 1k gucci high-heels, and a fucked up dog-shat ***-stained dress.

But hey, its cool right? And I am probably the problem. 23 years old, i must be an old man that 'cant understand the hype no more'.

Soichiro must be twisting and turning in his grave

Yes this car and the owner are the problem. You are as well. Man up and take an opinion instead of whining about it.

If you can't do it right, don't do it at all.

QFT

Look, it's not the 'look' of the car that's the problem. EL/Domani converted coupes are cool. However, you have big *** dents on the pass side, the front end doesn't line up, your passenger side seat has fallen and can't get up, and the bay wasn't scuffed or cleaned up before paint.

Just because these cars are getting older doesn't mean it's ok to treat them like clapped out hoopties. Take pride in your ride and you'll get respect. Work out the details - use good quality tires, not bald rollers; get the car aligned; take care to fit your parts properly; etc etc.

Haha I'm the problem? Man up? Take an opinion? If you had basic reading skills you would have seen that I posted my opinion. Fix the hood and lose the wrap, it would look ten times better. It's his car and he's building it how he wants. Just because it isn't your taste doesn't mean he's solely ruining the scene. I wouldn't do it, but there's much, much worse on this site.
