OP, if you have really nice paint I wouldn't recommend this. Fabric softener is made of some pretty serious chemicals and will damage the paint over time. The sheets are also somewhat micro-abrasive.
I won't even let the microfiber towels or absorbers that I use on my car get anywhere near fabric softener when I wash them.

I hate those dam bugs, I wonder how many I eat each season, they get in everything at work, have to cover grease,parts, just everything, little ***** ******* and dying all over everything
