My car has over 200,000 miles on it.. it was fine until a couple of months ago when i would be driving in d4, and it would suddenly stop accelerating as I was driving... The rpm gauge would rev up but the car wouldn't accelerate... Found that driving in d3 solved the problem until a couple weeks ago and all of a sudden, it won't accelerate in any gear. It just wants to go in reverse. Recently had my car hooked up to the computer and it showed 'incorrect gear ratio in the transfer case'.... Now what?

 

Time for a replacement transmission.
