Hi after getting good results on my motor questions. I now need to move on to my tranny questions. I have 97 civic ex coupe with a b16 motor swap just found that my motor is a sir found in 94 delsol vtec and 99 civic si.
So my question is this I need to change clutch soon and cant find out what car it usually is found in. On the tranny I have a sticker that has y21 on it followed by group of numbers that I can post later. It is a hydro type of clutch. Would this help anyone to try and help me find out this is from or is it a stock 97 ex trans my wife told me that the clitch for a 97 ex don't fit I guess she tried to have it changed before I met her. Lol. Any help or info u folks might have is greatly appreciate.

 

94-01 integra or 99-00 civic si. you can't use a d series transmission on a b series (without an adapter plate, which I don't see anyone doing).

 

Thank u for ur help. Do u know if its a common trans with upgrade capabilities wondering if I could run a stage 2 clutch or stage 1. Also do u know if gear ratio may help it feels like there should be another gear. Lol

 

There's plenty of aftermarket support for b series transmissions
