Default 1992 accord ex-r help! linkage

So I picked up the car listed above for 250$! Anyways it runs but it doesn't seem to go into neutral or fifth gear, I was told to adjust my linkage? Can anyone shed some light on this? How would I go about this. I'm use to civics and crx's which don't have cable linkage

Thanks!

sounds like tranny syncros are dead. does it go into gear when the car is off?

just check the linkage...assuming it's all still attached correctly, then your tranny is probably toast, which is why you got the car at a discount...best thing to do is to get a used one from the junkyard

i've done this just recently and couldn't be happier...just choose wisely...try to find one that has no transmission fluid leaks at the bottom of the housing

There is literally no way at all to adjust the linkage. Once it's on, it's on. Light shed. Just like I said in your other thread.

When you say the car doesn't go into neutral or 5th, can you explain just exactly what it's doing.

Yeah

And to the poster above, it goes into 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th but it feels like it is jammed when I try and go into 5th, I'll check it out right now

When it's in neutral the car won't roll

its either the pressure plate. or the syncros/sleeves/hubs are worn. transmission is shot. that is if all the gears go in with car off. if this is true and 5th feels likes its jammed i would be safe to say its the transmission

I would think if this was pressure plate related it would do the same thing in all gears.

I just started the car, when I let the clutch out in neutral it acted as if it were in 1st. Then when I put it in first it wouldn't move toward, same with reverse

when you pull the transmission you will see what the clutch looks like....it's obviously it's the tranny but you will be sure when you pull it
