Default Dumb quick question - OEM strut bar fitment on 6G D-series Civic

I've searched and have not found a clear answer to my question. I'm wanting to know if an oem 99-00 si strut brace will clear the factory intake and fit on my 97 civic hx.

That blows. Thanks for the quick reply. Found one for 10 bucks, I guess I'll skip it.

Really? I thought those strut bars fit all 92-00 Civics? Guess those intakes stick up pretty far on ODB2 D-series. Never owned a 6G so I've never tried.

Its ten bucks on CL locally for a SI one, but I'm concerned that it won't clear my factory intake setup on my 97 hx.

Ask the guy to let you see if it fits?

Drive over. Test fit it. $10, can't go wrong.

Gonna pick it up tonight after work for 10 bucks and see what happens. If it doesn't fit, I'll throw it on craigslist I guess.

it'll work. but you're gonna have to drill some holes out to mount it.

Possibly. Some already have the holes, plugged with little round rubber grommets. Some might just have divets. Easy fix, regardless.

I don't mind drilling. Just concerned with intake clearance.

This is what I like to here. Now, will it do anything? Doubtful, haha. Adding the rear si swaybar did make a noticeable improvement though.

Picked it up and test fit, clears perfect with stock airbox and manifold. Thanks for the replies guys!

I was gonna say, it fits D16Y8/Ex and D16Y5/Hx with no issues, D16Y7/Lx/Dx will not fit because of the intake manifold design, unless you swap the IM out for on off a D16Y8.

There we go. Additional note to D16Y7 owners: you don't need a strut brace anyway because - no powah.
