Default Suspension for daily driving lx?

Hi all! My 2006 lx has just crossed 76k miles, one of the rear shock dust covers was found to be cracked and the front struts begin to squeak. Overall I feel like the shocks are past their prime, the car has become buincier, especially the rear end. I am looking to replace at least the shocks and struts in maybe the next 15-20k miles and I just wanted to see what my options would be. I am kinda curious in possibly making the car a tad more...sporty I guess, though this is basically my commuter and I don't race or anything like that. At one point I had the hfp suspension on the car, but it was way too stiff, so perhaps I'd be looking for something in between the oem ride quality and hfp. Not looking for lowering springs. If that is not obtainable I guess I would just go with the oem stuff.

Cheers!

If HFP was stiff for you, you're only option is most likely oem.

Really? The hfp seemed a lot stiffer than the oem, even stiffer than my gf's mazdaspeed3(which is a stiff car already).

To be honest i've never been in a car with HFP suspension, can't imagine imagine it being much firmer than a stock Si, which felt like boat to me lol

Actually, hfp is quite stiffer than stock si. I'd say that the stock si is even softer than the ms3. But putting the si suspension in my lx is out of question haha.

HFP is pretty much one step down from Type R set ups, most likely the same as the Type S in Acura's CSX. It is a sport tuned OEM suspension with a stiffer, shorter spring to lower the car and improve handling. It makes the car more track tuned in its stance and feel, and makes it ride like a shopping cart.

Exactly! It was a total overkill for the type of driving that I do. Though it was fun to take a turn at a right angle intersection doing 40mph.

Even my Si rides like a shopping cart...OEM suspension and all...The spring rate and the damper settings are what make the suspension stiff as it is...

New to the site and I have an 07 Civic, curious do you also plan on changing out your springs? Myself I already switched out the rear upper control arms (was forced to) and plan on possibly purchasing some springs b4 proceeding the shocks & struts. Also I'm like you this is my daily not looking for anything too extreme.
