1998 CRV Crank Compatibility
Hello
My car 1998 CRV
I need to swap my motor. I have a 1999 CRV with an automatic trans available, does anyone know if the crank is the same, concerned about pilot bushing.
Any other concerns would be appreciated
thxs

Thanks,
Any idea what the book time is for CRV eng swap. Is it difficult to remove, I have done lots of british motor changes rebuilds so not new, have heard it is hard to get out. I do have all the available shop manuals

its easy to pull. drain the trans, unbolt the axle nuts and pop them out of the trans. Unbolt the prop shaft then drain you coolant and follow all the electrical connections from the main harness to the engine harness, unbolt the motor and trans mounts and out it goes. I can pull a honda motor in less than a few hours. its easy
thanks , I am still thinking I have owned this CRV since new it has 400000km.
Took a brand new 2013 CRV for a drive today, I just might just do it and join the crowd of payments.

I did a second compression test today #3 cylinder is 85 psi all the others are 155 to 162.
The leak down test shows red , the air can be heard only hissing in the #2 cylinder so I am thinking maybe just a head gasket. No noise from intake or tail pipe, seems odd that the coolant remains full. It still runs great just the ck eng light is flashing and shows code 303 miss firing. It also burns a litre of oil every 600km. Would you believe it still has the original clutch.
