IAB Secondaries/Cam timing for possible gains

Combining the additional air with some intake cam timing advance, could there be any slight gain in power getting the IAB to be set to say 5000-6000? I dont want to ever fall out of my secondaries if I dont have to when I shift. Does anyone know of any setups that have used the IABV with the use of an electrically controlled solenoid/rpm switch? Id like to be able to control it via rpm switch if possible. Any ideas?
I tried using an MSD RPM activated switch to hook up my IAB when I couldn't wire it correctly to the ECU. I couldn't get it to work. My tach wouldn't work when I'd tap into the wire for it for the switch. I took off that manifold and got a skunk2.

I hear ya on that one, I will eventually have a skunk2 I just dont want to sacrifice 120whp/120tq + at the wheels at 5252rpm for less midrange not being able to tune the sucker proplerly. Right now, I have no way of adjusting ECU telemetry.
Im not looking for peak numbers, obviously I am interested in getting the midrange power to begin sooner so I can enjoy my secondaries about 500-700rpm earlier, at lower speeds when I shift on this longer tranny.

I think there's definitely power to be gained by opening the butterflies earlier, but you need to also be able to tune the fuel delivery, with something more than an FPR. This is my problem. I've removed my IAB valve body completely and am consequently lean from 4400-5750rpm... but that's another story. Many months ago, I remember this being discussed here, but as will probably happen this time, I don't believe that there was anyone who had done what you're looking to do. Or I should say that no one on H-T had done it. Good luck & let us know what you end up with.
I think you should use a vafc, adjusting it would be easy. Fuel wont need to be changed at all, you're not changing the amount of air, just its path. The guy who tried using an msd switch didnt have the msd ignition system, or a tach adapter which he would have needed. MSD's have a stronger tach output on the ignition systems. It will run the accesories (which draw the whole weak factory signal) and let you keep your tach. I think benefits can be seen and there isnt any reason to get rid of the manifold. It does work.
