Why do you think you need to buy a distributor soon? RA has them for ~160+ shipping.

No need to replace the whole distributor if the rotor was just busted. Purchase a new rotor for a few bucks and chisel/cut off the glued on one. Distributors last a long time, it will need replacing when it fails, there is no maintenance interval, usually the rotor needs replacing as it wears out at the same time as plugs and wires.
